In our endeavour to keep pace with global community and yet be able to maintain our individual identity as an active participant in the increasingly interactive and connected world, Vidya Devi Jindal School has been associated with various British Council programs and initiatives.
The BBC News School Report project, run by the British Council in partnership with the BBC, gives 11-16 year-old students the chance to make their own news reports at school and to broadcast these to a real audience via the internet and other media. The students create news reports throughout the year. The project aims to engage young people with news and international current affairs, hear young people's voices and stories, and encourage young people to debate the ethics of news-making. The project provides a vehicle for students to improve their communication skills and confidence and to report what's important to them.
To hone the reportage skills of the students, VDJS is now a participant of this project.
