When ‘I’ is replaced with ‘We’, even ‘illness’ becomes ‘wellness’ and to promote this wholesome wellness, Mental Health Week was celebrated at VDJS from 6th-12th October. In adherence to the theme for Mental Health Week-2022, “making mental health and well-being for all a global priority,” Jindalites participated in a number of hands on activities based on self-care of emotions, like “I AM” which promotes Self-awareness to Self O’ clock, and expression and experiencing of positive affirmations via T-Shirt-Painting and Badge-Making. The celebration of Mental Health Week was brought to an end with a special assembly on 12th October by the Department of Psychology to mark the World Mental Health Day. The auditorium resonated with the melodious song by Jindalites that celebrated the undying courage and potential that each individual is born with. The next was the sanguine and heartwarming musical dance drama on the composition, ‘Scars are Beautiful’, depicting the journey of a girl from being a prey to social criticism to a winner who evolves and embraces her true-self. A video showcasing the interviews of Sahayikas and Dorm Parents on their thoughts on mental health was also shared with the audience that advocated the value of mental health for all.
