On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi Ji the students of Vidya Devi Jindal School prepared solar lamps. It is organized by IIT Bombay. Teachers Mr. S R Ganti, Mrs. Muneesh Rathore, and Mrs. Shravani Ganti, got trained online with the guidance of IIT Bombay X.
The Aim of workshop is
Mahatma Gandhi always propagated “Not mass production but production by the masses”. It is high time that we pay gratitude and thus adopt Gandhian ideologies while celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The Gandhi Global Solar Yatra(GGSY) is planned top remote self-sufficiency in energy for sustainability by providing complete, cost-effective, reliable, and susta
inable solar energy aces while protecting the environment, creating livelihoods, and empowering locals .
As per the guidelines we procured the required components. Total 75 students from grade VI to XII took part. Briefing different types of energy resources and how those are producing with merits and demerits started the workshop. Explained how reusable energy can produced electric energy at cheaper cost with less damage to earth and environment. Later given introduction about the various components and its description, how to take precaution while using the same. Students first tested the components and its working conditions with multi meter, then fixed the PCB, battery, switch, LED etc., by using the soldering iron, and glue. Later it was placed in the sunlight for more then 2 hours to charge. Finally the lights started glowing not only the LED but also all the faces with great satisfaction and joy. All were taken pledge to save the environment and save the earth for generations.
