Starting October VDJS girls from Classes VI to VIII have been engaged in a six week long Online Round Square Climate Action Project. The project launched in October 2020 involves millions of students across 107 countries. In the first week of the project the girls learnt the difference between Climate and Weather, Past Climate and Present Climate, and created their own definition of ‘Climate Change’ by analysing the available data. In the second week each of them planted a sapling in their vicinity and shared photos of their vertical garden, terrace garden and also some indoor plants along with beautiful slogans on the theme ‘Save Earth’. They carried out a detailed study to find out the effects of climate change in Asia on flora and fauna, weather patterns and human activity. Girls thoroughly enjoyed conducting interviews of their relatives across different generations, recording videos and sharing their experience through an online platform. In the coming weeks they will continue their exploration of the central theme of the project.
