India is a land of great teachers whose timeless teachings have been nurturing the life of every Indian for ages. Maharshi Valmiki, Ved Vyasa, Arya Bhatta, Gautam Buddha, Shankaracharya, Chanakya, Sri Ram Krishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam- they all have been the imperishable pillars of Indian Education System. Teachers’ Day is celebrated to remember with reverence the rich heritage of Guru-Shikshak Parampara that the Indians are blessed with and also to express gratitude to the teachers facilitating the holistic development of children around them.

VDJS celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September in all its grandeur and majesty. Dressed in beautiful traditional attire, the students of Class XII put up an awe-striking special morning for their torchbearers with music, dance, videos, and fun. The programme unfolded with a heartfelt lyrical ‘Thank You’ by the students to the teachers for being there to shape their life into a beautiful bouquet of learnings and experiences. With the display of candid digital snippets from the school life of teachers, and the ravishing songs from the 1990s, the auditorium resonated with the energy of a live opera as the Jindalites cheered for their teachers as they walked up the stage with their counterparts from Class XII. The students of Class XII expressed their love and respect for their gurus by giving them a rose flower and getting a bar of chocolate in return. Not leaving fun behind, the Jindalites shook the stage off with their thrilling dance performance and a mesmerising song. The celebration drew to a close with a Vote of Thanks by Sarojini House Prefect, Avnoor Singh, wherein she acknowledged the sincere efforts of the VDJS teachers in assuring ‘All is Well’ in the life of every Jindalite.
