Volleyball is a physically demanding sport that takes skill and athletic ability. Playing volleyball has several advantages and knowing what they are might motivate you pick up a ball and start serving, spiking, and bumping. It is a fun way to burn calories. Playing 45 minutes of volleyball can burn up to 585 calories. Volleyball also improves muscle strength and tone. Playing regular volleyball strengthen the upper body, arms, shoulders, thighs, abdominals, and lower legs. In addition, volleyball improves hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and balance. Last but not the least, volleyball teaches teamwork and communication and is a great social activity.
VDJS offers volleyball to its students from Grade IV onwards. The game is offered in three categories: Sub-Junior (Grades IV-VIII), Junior (Grade IX-X), and Senior (Grade XI-XII). The new students are oriented every year in the beginning of the session in the month of April. The students who choose volleyball as a game are provided training everyday for 90minutes. The training sessions encompass warm up exercises and lower body exercises before starting with the regular game teaching basic skills. The skills acquired are assessed on a monthly basis to gauge the progress of every child.
