WORLD OZONE DAY CELEBRATIONS-16 September 2017
United Nations General Assembly observes 16th September as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. In order to create an awareness amongst the young students who will be the citizens of tomorrow Vidya Devi Jindal School observed this day with full zeal and enthusiasm to sensitize and spread the awareness for the depleting ozone layer.
Through the School Assembly the students were given an insight into the importance of the ozone layer and the need to protect this fragile shield of gas which protects the Earth from the harmful Ultraviolet radiations. Further to mark the importance of the day, students were involved in various activities such as slogan writing, poster designing, quiz etc.
With an intention to commemorate the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (1987), a video was shown which helped the students to appreciate the importance of ozone day being celebrated all over the world.In all, it was a good learning experience for young and old alike. Ozone Layer Protection… The mission goes on! Hope this mission is successful and we all live a long and healthy life on our Planet.
