GENERATION GLOBAL – ‘Essentials of Dialogue’

(Teacher I/C - Mr Abhijit Mukhopadhyay and Mrs Indu Sharma)

Our School has been affiliated with Generation Global, Face to Faith Foundation for years. It is an open platform for exchanging views among the school students across cultures and continents, initiated by Mr. Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of U.K.  It offers free and flexible resources on a range of global issues and high-quality training for educators to support young people’s global citizenship development. This year, we had students from class-IX to XII, who have attended video conferences and online dialogues, intended for global community to create a safe space for intercultural dialogue between young people around the world, supporting them to become an active and open-minded citizen.

What have we done so far?

Our students have attended around 25 video conferences We have had certain discussions on some topics and an open dialogue is held, as it is all about dialogue, as it does not support debating. Our students got to know the ideas and practices across the globe as the attendees are generally selected from different countries and continents. They discuss and learn the topics further with other students and the Teacher-In charges, during their Hobby time.

    Some of the topics were:

     a) Climate Change

     b) Rights and Inequalities

    c) Health and Well Being

    d) Hate Speech Online

    e) Rights of girls and women

    f) Digital wellness

   g) Wealth and poverty etc.

Some of our students like, Ms. Nidhi Chaudhury  of Class-XI Humanities, has earned 22 learning badges and others received Certificates for participating in various Video Conferences very enthusiastically.
