Gandhi Jayanti was observed in school in the form of a special assembly. The students spoke about the Mahatma and his contribution in the freedom struggle of the country. The greatness of the man was brought out through the narration of a few remarkable episodes of his life. The school choir gave a melodious rendition of Bapu’s favourite Bhajans. The girls also shared a beautiful poem about Lal Bahadur Shastriji, the second Prime Minister of India, who shares his birthday with Gandhiji. Principal Ms Mehrotra urged the girls to draw inspiration from the lives of the two great leaders and announced the new Prefectorial Board. Later in the day in keeping with Gandhiji’s dictum that Cleanliness is next to Godliness the girls engaged themselves in the House cleaning activity.
