International Women’s Day was celebrated in school in the form of a Special assembly on the 6th of March and a Staff Get Together on the 8th of March.

The Assembly began with a prayer dedicated to all women. This was followed by the melodious rendition of a group song by the male teachers which left everyone mesmerized. A powerful poem by Ms Monika and a thought provoking discussion moderated by the girls on the theme of the year 2021 #ChooseToChallenge sparked many interesting ideas. The girls shared which deeply entrenched beliefs about women they would like to challenge, what it means to them when someone says ‘behave like a girl’, the strides made by girls in different fields and the positive changes in societal behaviour over the years. The assembly ended with a video of school images bringing out the message of woman power. Giving a strong message of true emancipation to the girls Principal Ms Mehrotra urged all girls to have confidence in their potential and take ownership of their own destiny without looking for support from others. She also expressed her appreciation for all the men who don’t patronise women instead treat them as equals.

A staff Get Together was organised on the 8th of March. The idea was to have some entertainment specially crafted for the ladies by the male members of the staff. From compering to organising games and putting up musical performances everything was done by the men. The female staff made quite a sartorial statement with their elegant dressing and enjoyed striking the perfect pose at the two photobooths. A poem by Ms Shriya Bhalla was much appreciated by all. Mouthwatering snacks were the perfect culmination of the fun filled day.
