Kathak Workshop By Guru Smt Vidha Lal

Nine Jindalites and teachers of the Dance Department, Ms Supriya Pathak and Ms Jayati Sharma attended a four-day workshop conducted by the renowned Kathak dancer, Smt Vidha Lal, organised by Ojasvi Kathak Kala Kendra at Sikar, Rajasthan. 4 schools and 75 students from different parts of India participated in the workshop. Various  ‘hasth mudras’ and the technical part of the Jaipur gharana with rigorous footwork, uthaan, chalan and thaat were taught to the attendees. The senior students also learnt “Shiv Kavit”. The workshop concluded with a bemusing performance of classical compositions learned by the students and they were felicitated with a certificate for their efforts. Jindalites also visited the famous 1100 years old temple, the Harshnath temple in Sikar.
