On January 26, the school celebrated the National Festival: 73rd Republic Day, with the hoisting of the national flag in the presence of restricted members of the VDJS faculty, following Covid- guidelines. The link to the Republic Day parade had been shared with the students and parents to ensure their virtual participation in the celebration. Students and members of the faculty also performed Suryanamaskar as part of the #750 million Suryanamaskar campaign initiated by the Consulate General of India. The students of Middle School made Waste to Wealth project as a Craft activity. The literarily inclined ones shared poems and essays commemorating milestones in history and throwing light on the lives of unsung heroes.
The girls also took part in the MyGov quiz and received digital certificates. The video of the National War Memorial was shared with all to inculcate a sense of pride.
The NCC cadets organized an online assembly wherein the significance of the day was shared with the attendees. An art work in the form of a portrait of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, recitation of patriotic poems also marked the event. The highlight was the presentation of the letter to Gallantry Award Winner (MAHAVIR CHAKRA) Jaswant Singh by Cadet Archita. ANO Captain Suman Arora appreciated the efforts of the cadets and motivated them to learn about National Festivals and brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.
