Jindalites participated in a Round Square Service Project on 1st & 2nd February 2023, themed ‘One Sky, One Humanity and One World’ organised by Welham Boys School at Deoli, Rajasthan to develop a deeper understanding of rural culture through service and make a difference through community engagement.

At Mohini Read India Centre, Deoli, the students participated in the group tasks of construction of a toilet for rural women, wall painting at the Mohini Read India Centre, stool weaving, cleaning of the village stretch of polythene and non-degradable material, and tree plantation. A Community Meet & Educational workshop was also organised by Barefoot College International (BCI), wherein the students learned to make solar lamps and reusable sanitary pads for rural women. The people of the village also joined the students in their efforts. The work done by the delegates was appreciated by Bharatpur District Collector, Mr Alok Ranjan and they were felicitated with certificates. During the training program, the students visited the Keoladeo Ghana National Park where they saw birds like Brown-headed Gulls, Purple Heron, and Mallard and learned about the behavioural pattern of the migratory birds.  They also performed Nukkad Natak for the rural people. The students were overwhelmed and relished the traditional dal bati churma and ladoo for lunch, arranged by the village headman.

The project offered a golden opportunity for young minds to learn life skills and develop an attitude of gratitude through community service.
