Central Board of Secondary Education
The School is affiliated to the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). As a CBSE school we envision a robust, vibrant and holistic school education that will engender all-round excellence. We are committed to providing quality education to promote intellectual, social and cultural vivacity among our learners. Our girls study in a stress-free learning environment which helps them to develop into competent, confident and enterprising citizens.
Indian Public Schools’ Conference
We are a member of the (IPSC) Indian Public Schools’ Conference which aims to prepare the young for service and responsibility in national life through holistic education. Like all IPSC schools, we offer facilities for co-curricular and sports activities and have a robust Prefectorial System, making the students stakeholders in their education. Our girls take part in a large number of sports and cultural events held under the aegis of IPSC.
Round Square
VDJS is a member of Round Square which is an internationally diverse network of 200 like-minded schools in 50 countries on 6 continents. As a member school, we share a commitment to character education and experiential learning built around six themes – IDEALS- International Understanding, Democracy, Environmental Stewardship, Adventure, Leadership and Service. These IDEALS are underpinned by twelve Discoveries that students explore on their learning journey.
Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage
The School is a member of INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) which was founded in 1984 to stimulate and spearhead heritage awareness and conservation in India. Through various literary, artistic and cultural activities, we sensitise our students about the pluralistic cultural legacy of India and instil in them a sense of social responsibility towards preserving India’s common heritage.
National Progressive Schools’ Conference
VDJS is a member of the (NPSC) National Progressive Schools’ Conference, an association of senior secondary schools across the country affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. The member schools work in collaboration with Government organizations to bring about qualitative changes in education. This happens through collaborative work in teaching-learning practices, policy-making, scholastic and co-scholastic initiatives and reforms in education. The NPSC also has partnerships with a variety of international agencies and all efforts are directed to fulfil the motto ‘Quality, Commitment and Excellence’ in Education.
British Council
We are a member of the British Council, the UKs international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. VDJS has been awarded with the British Council ISA (International School Award) which is an accreditation scheme that recognises and celebrates exemplary practices of Internationalism in schools.
International Award for Young People
The IAYP (International Award for Young People) is an exciting self-development programme for all young students worldwide. It equips youth with life skills, builds confidence, and engages them with their communities. The basic structure of the Award consists of 4 mandatory sections – Service, Adventurous Journey, Skills and Physical Recreation. From Class IX onwards our girls engage in a large number of activities to clear the different levels of the award.
National Cadet Corps
We are enrolled with 3 Har Girls BN NCC, Hisar which falls under Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate. After a selection process, Class VIII students are enrolled in the Junior Wing and Class XI students in the Senior Wing. Each Wing continues its training for 2 years and the cadets appear for NCC ‘A’ Certificate Exam and NCC ‘B’ Certificate Exam respectively. Under the guidance of the School ANO, the students undergo rigorous training and take part in community outreach activities.
Green Schools Program
VDJS has been a proud member of the Green School Program since 2015. It is an environmental education programme directed to subtly sensitizing students to the environment through hands-on and thought-provoking activities. It is also an environment management system that audits, through students, the consumption of natural resources within school campuses and helps schools become good environmental managers. In recognition of our eco-friendly practices we have been rated as Green school for four consecutive years.
Generations Global:
Our School has been affiliated with Generation Global, Face to Faith Foundation for years. It is an open platform for exchanging views among the school students across cultures and continents, initiated by Mr. Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of U.K. It offers free and flexible resources on a range of global issues and high-quality training for educators to support young people’s global citizenship development. This year, we had students from class-IX to XII, who have attended video conferences and online dialogues, intended for global community to create a safe space for intercultural dialogue between young people around the world, supporting them to become an active and open-minded citizen.
BSAI(Boarding Schools’ Association of India)
BSAI is the pioneering Indian association that serves, represents and promotes the interests of purely residential, private, unaided boarding schools in India. VDJS is now honoured to be a member of the prestigious organization which was established in 2020. It’s primary objectives are to serve the staff and students of member boarding schools through professional training, providing a forum for all member schools to increase interaction and cooperation amongst each member.
AFS(American Field Services)
American Field Services (AFS) an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world. The association has opened the doors not only for the students but also for the staff to train and understand the global perspectives and broaden their understanding on global issues. AFS provides dynamic intercultural exchange opportunities for young learners and facilitates learning through activities and training sessions. Diverse events and collaborative sessions facilitate students and staff to connect with fellow learners and educators for educational, cultural and intellectual enhancement. These collaborations are highly recommended in today’s world as we constantly walk in the direction of being global citizens and the world needs individuals who believe in peace and empathy.
