Boarding House is a lifeline of a residential school and a home away from home for its inhabitants. VDJS boast of its four state of the art boarding houses namely Kasturba, Laxmibai, Sarojini and Savitri. Each with a capacity of 175 girls from age 9 to 17.  At the time of admission every girl is assigned to a Boarding House which becomes her identity by the time she passes out from the school and remains an integral part of her life ever after. Each house have designated staff: one house mistress, one resident housemistress, two dorm parents and four support staff who act as a parental figures providing guidance and support to students.
