On September 30, students of Classes IV to VII planted the saplings of fruit plants in the school campus as part of the skill course on Organic Farming. The girls planted guava, jamun, banana, lemon, kinnow(mandarin), dragon fruit, and a few more. They discussed the names of the plants with the gardener and named them. In the coming week students will sow the seeds for seasonal vegetables.

As part of the 12 week course the girls will also be educated about Cropping patterns and basic practices of farming(loosening of soil, sowing, manuring, composting, irrigation, weeding etc). They will also learn about the pests, pesticides and effects of chemical pesticides on environment and health. Preparation of biopesticides with Neem leaves will also be taught to them.
